The journey of CEECK from its founding to today
The CEECK was established on April 6th 2008 and registered with the registrar of societies in Nairobi. The CEECK started with fourteen parishes and with hundreds of members. As of now the Parishes have increased with indications of growing further as the people of Kenya embrace the Three Stream Convergence concept. The CEECK background is mainly Anglican, formed after a split from the EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF AFRICA which also had been formed after splitting from the Anglican church Diocese of Maseno North. Due to many squabbles in the Episcopal Church of Africa, most Clergy with intend of Ministering peacefully decided to leave which resulted in the creation of the CEECK. Most of the members and Clergy in the CEECK have either An Anglican or Catholic background.
Therefore with a strong background of the mainstream church; The CEECK through Apostolic succession traces its origin to the original Pentecostal movement founded on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2) and carried on through the ages of church growth as evidenced in the Early church, the reformation period,Protestantism and the great awakening and revival periods throughout the centuries.
The formal worship is ordered by means of liturgy as ordered and regulated by the church according to the liturgical calendar. In its worship the church fully incorporates the three streams of convergence:
The CEECK echoes the Great Commission instituted by Christ Himself in Matthew 28:18-20. As such, the driving motto behind the CEECK is "TO BRING CHRIST TO THE PEOPLE" through a vibrant liturgical, charismatic and evangelical worship system.
BELIEFS:The CEECK’s combines it's Vision and Mission based on Matthew 28: “The Great Commission “ Bringing Christ to the people through Evangelism,Charity and the Administration of the Seven Sacraments as opposed to the norm of bringing people to Christ. Besides its main mission to Bring Christ to the People and the administration of the seven sacraments, the Church is fully Liturgical/Sacramental, Charismatic and Evangelical. The church's main belief is encapsulated in the traditional Nicene Creed as detailed in the protestant catechism found in the Book of Common Prayer of 1662 and the subsequent editions.
To be a growing community of believers that faithfully actualizes the meaning and impact of the three streams convergence, serving as a beacon of hope and spiritual growth in Kenya and beyond.
Unity in diversity, scriptural foundation, sacramental worship, charismatic expression, evangelical outreach, and faithful service to God and community in the spirit of love and fellowship.
CEECK provides a faithful abode for Christians of all walks by incorporating three rich traditions
We embrace the gifts of the Holy Spirit, including divine healing, prophecy, speaking in tongues, and other spiritual manifestations. Our worship is filled with the presence and power of God, allowing for spontaneous praise and Spirit-led ministry.
We are firmly grounded in the authority of Scripture and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We emphasize personal salvation through faith, the importance of biblical preaching, and the call to share the Good News with others.
We honor the rich traditions of the church, including formal liturgy, sacraments, and ancient practices of worship. This provides depth, reverence, and connection to the historical church throughout the ages.
