Foundation and Growth

The CEECK was established on April 6th 2008 and registered with the registrar of societies in Nairobi. The CEECK started with fourteen parishes and with hundreds of members. As of now the Parishes have increased with indications of growing further as the people of Kenya embrace the Three Stream Convergence concept. The CEECK background is mainly Anglican, formed after a split from the EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF AFRICA which also had been formed after splitting from the Anglican church Diocese of Maseno North. Due to many squabbles in the Episcopal Church of Africa, most Clergy with intend of Ministering peacefully decided to leave which resulted in the creation of the CEECK. Most of the members and Clergy in the CEECK have either An Anglican or Catholic background.

Therefore with a strong background of the mainstream church; The CEECK through Apostolic succession traces its origin to the original Pentecostal movement founded on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2) and carried on through the ages of church growth as evidenced in the Early church, the reformation period,Protestantism and the great awakening and revival periods throughout the centuries.

The formal worship is ordered by means of liturgy as ordered and regulated by the church according to the liturgical calendar. In its worship the church fully incorporates the three streams of convergence:

  • Liturgical,
  • Evangelical
  • Charismatic/ Pentecostal
  • The central element of the CEECK church worship is the celebration of the Eucharist, one of the seven sacraments of the church.

    • Liturgical/Sacramental - Honoring sacred traditions and sacraments
    • Evangelical - Grounded in Scripture and the Gospel
    • Charismatic - Embracing the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit

The CEECK echoes the Great Commission instituted by Christ Himself in Matthew 28:18-20. As such, the driving motto behind the CEECK is "TO BRING CHRIST TO THE PEOPLE" through a vibrant liturgical, charismatic and evangelical worship system.

    BELIEFS:
As in the Early Holy Catholic Apostolic Church, the beliefs of the CEECK are contained, reflected, and clarified by the major councils of the early church, convened by the leaders of the early church at important points throughout history. The Nicene, Apostles and Athanasius creeds are the main Creeds of the church. The church believes that these Creeds contain sufficient statements and principles of faith for basic Christian belief.
    THE EUCHARIST:
The church encourages the faithfuls to receive the Eucharist as often as one who is in a state of Grace desires. The church believes that the Eucharist should be celebrated every time the congregation meets in the Church or public setting, except in circumstances which may not permit. COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL INTERVENTIONS:
The church is also fully involved in the normal social and community programs and ministries. Besides fulfilling the Great commission in Mathew 28,the church has major community development projects that address the Health, Education, poverty and social needs of the community it covers. Programs like mobile clinics, micro-enterprise development programs for small scale business, HIV/AIDS education/trainings, setting up of libraries and educational centres/ schools in the community are among the major priorities of the church.

    Our Mission & Vision

    🎯

    Our Mission

The CEECK’s combines it's Vision and Mission based on Matthew 28: “The Great Commission “ Bringing Christ to the people through Evangelism,Charity and the Administration of the Seven Sacraments as opposed to the norm of bringing people to Christ. Besides its main mission to Bring Christ to the People and the administration of the seven sacraments, the Church is fully Liturgical/Sacramental, Charismatic and Evangelical. The church's main belief is encapsulated in the traditional Nicene Creed as detailed in the protestant catechism found in the Book of Common Prayer of 1662 and the subsequent editions.
